We have opened a guest exhibition by the National Liberation Museum Maribor, titled Smuggling, at the City Museum of Zagreb (MGZ). At the opening, speeches were given by the Director of MGZ, Dr. Sc. Aleksandra Berberih Slana, the Director of MNOM, Simona Tripkovič, and the curator of the exhibition, Jan Malec Svetel.
Coffee, jeans, laundry detergent, and boundless ingenuity at the border—welcome to the 1980s! Through real stories and objects, the exhibition reveals a time when ‘smuggling’ was more than just shopping—it was an art of survival and a part of everyday life.
